ABOUT MELODY ACADEMY OF MUSIC
In 1992, I started teaching private piano students in my graduate housing apartment at Stanford Hoskin Highrise. By 1997, like many tech companies in the Silicon Valley, I began offering early group music lessons right in my home garage.
Mission Academy of Music was founded in 1998. Based on many years of group teaching experience in Taiwan and in the United States, I co-designed a curriculum especially for young children. Within a year, Melody Academy of Music was at full capacity with many more parents asking to enroll their children in our group lesson programs.
Our first studio was established in Cupertino, CA. That same year, we started our Fremont location with students coming from as far as San Francisco, Berkeley, Pleasanton, and Antioch.
In 2001, we hosted our own young children’s recital at the Stanford Dinkelspiel Auditorium. Beginning in 2009, we hosted our annual Grand Recital in the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre with an audience of over 1,000 people.
We understand that choosing the right music program for your child is a very important decision. Our curriculum is designed to provide you and your child with a fun and emotionally supportive experience while learning about music. However, besides fun and games, we also set milestones and check our students’ progress. Besides numerous mini-recitals in class, we also host annual exams in the spring, and an annual Grand Recital in the winter.
The cities of Belmont, Cupertino, Fremont, Foster City, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Menlo Park, Milpitas, Palo Alto, San Carlos, Saratoga, Sunnyvale, and Union City have collaborated with us and continue to entrust their music programs to us through their Parks and Recreation departments.
We want to thank you for entrusting us with your child’s early music education and invite you to participate in your child’s musical development and friendship with music.
